When leadership needs a clear view of the situation
An Operational Assessment is used when an industrial operation is under pressure and leadership urgently requires a clear view of what must be done. This typically applies when cost structures no longer match competitive reality, the production footprint is under pressure, performance is declining, or when decisions are known but not acted upon.

Define a baseline
The purpose of the assessment is to establish a clear baseline. It defines what the situation requires and what decisions must be taken.
The outcome is a decision-oriented assessment designed to support immediate action. It provides a clear and grounded view of the current operating situation, identifies the structural issues affecting performance, defines the changes required, sets out a prioritised set of actions, and establishes a recommended direction for the business.
The findings are presented directly to decision-makers and structured to enable immediate decisions.

Areas under review
The work focuses on the areas that determine whether the operation can continue in its current form or requires structural change. This includes financial performance and cost structure, production setup and industrial footprint, organisational structure and decision-making, and operational performance and execution capability.
It also includes targeted interviews with leadership and key functions. Where required, the work includes direct assessment of the operation to ensure that conclusions reflect operating reality.
Structured process
The process is structured, focused and time bound. It combines review of financial and operational material with direct engagement with leadership and key functions.
The objective is to establish a clear view of what the situation requires, what decisions cannot be postponed, and what actions must be taken. The work is designed to move quickly and support decision-making without delaying action.
Timeframe and required access
Most assessments are completed within two to four weeks, depending on scope, complexity and access.
The client provides access to relevant financial and operational information, ensures availability of key stakeholders, and participates in the final decision session.
The process is designed to minimise disruption while providing sufficient access to reach a reliable conclusion.

Transition to execution
At the end of the assessment, leadership has a clear view of what must be done. Where structural change is required, the assessment defines the actions and provides the starting point for execution.
Where appropriate, the work transitions directly into either an interim mandate to take control of the situation and drive execution, or a mentoring assignment where Notic works through the existing leadership team with clear priorities, follow-up and reporting.

Relevant situations
The Operational Assessment is intended for owners, boards and leadership teams responsible for industrial operations that are under pressure or no longer aligned with market conditions.
Where the required direction is already clear, the work can be initiated directly without an assessment phase, either through an interim mandate to take control of the situation or through a mentoring assignment working through the existing leadership team.
